2019 Final Thoughts

Welp, here we are- 1.5 years later, and just now getting these thoughts posted. I KNOW I had a draft of this post ready and waiting to add hyperlinks, but stuff came up (*cough* Rona *cough*) and damn if I can't find that draft now. I'm sure we TOTALLY remember all the stuff that was important, so this will be great. Thank Fairchild we have all of our day-of thoughts saved on IG.

Upon reflection (oh the nostalgia of better times after more than a year of not eating out), 2019 was a really great year! First- we were so dang SKINNY (sighs forever). Second- the weather was fantastic. Third- only one horrible disappointment (goodbye beloved Deep Fried Ribs from Ballpark Cafe). Fourth, overall the food was great and we discovered a couple new gems that we can't wait to get again.

Here are our day-of thoughts for the new and new to us foods. And as always, check us out on IG (FairFestFeasts) to see thoughts + pics.

NAILED IT- GRADE A FOODS

Pebbles and Bam Bam- $8 from Nordic Waffles
DING! DING! DING! If you want a dessert then this is it! Warm and melty, gooey and crunchy, chocolatey and fruity. LOVE IT

Wingwalker Donuts- $9 from The Hangar
These donuts were fantastic! Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside. Dipping sauces were all good too, but the prize pigs were the donut holes, hands down. A must get.

Carnitas Taco Cone- $10 from San Felipe Tacos
Barring Sarah who doesn't like tacos, everyone loved this. The shell was amazingly crispy. Disappointed it didn't come with the taco holder in the original pic. Reallllllly long line.

Peaches n' Cream Nachos- $8 from Bridgeman's Icecream
This was wonderful! Great peaches flavor with sweet honey and cinnamon pita chips, and crunchy pecans. Almost like a peachy fried ice cream flavor combo. Bam!

Warm Cheesecake Tart- $6 from Lulu's Public House
What a fucking fantastic end to the day- start with an A, end with an A. We had strawberry, but plan on going back for chocolate and salted caramel. Oh god, it was so jiggly and custardy. We thought the warmth would be a turn off, but it was the opposite. Fucking homerun. EVERYONE GET THIS

Cheese Curds- $6 from Miller's Cheese Curds
As cheese curd enthusiasts, we felt obligated to try this other brand (not new, but new to us). While they have flavors like ranch and garlic, the purists in us went with original. If you don't want to deal with the crowd in the food building, this is a great sub.

Beer Battered Onion Rings- $5.75 (with BRBB) from Ballpark Cafe
Not new, but new to us. Great batter, nice and crispy and tasty. Wonderful onion rings. Drowned our sorrows in onion rings (no more deep fried ribs).

Elephant Ear- $6 from Funnel Cakes
Not new, but new to us. This was really great, real big and fried fresh. I always go traditional (butter with cinnamon and sugar)

Eggroll on a Stick- $7 from Que Viet
This is a fucking great eggroll. SO CRISPY! Thanks for the rec Bekah!

Dragonfruit with Sno Cream- $7.50 from Minnesnowii Shaved Ice
This flavor was fantastic and the sno cream drizzle was a nice, sweet added touch. Love this place.

Dreamsickle Hard Malt- $6.50 from Coasters
A!!! We frickin looooooooved this. Kind of like a creamier, adult orange julius. Will definitely get again.

London Broil Steak Sandwich- $10 from Butcher Boys
This was great!! Juicy medium rare sliced steak meat in a soft bun. Just so good and so satisfying. Thanks for the rec Dann Krueger (Dann Food Haiku)

PRETTY DURN GOOD- GRADE B FOODS

Breakfast Potato Skins- $8.95 from Blue Barn
Solid Start! A little too much potatoes because the bearnaise sauce was subtle, but the flavors was very nice!

Al Pastor Waffle- $8 from Nordic Waffles
Great flavor with the marinated pork and pineapple, savory goodness.

Duck Drummies- $8.75 from Giggles Campfire Grill
Super crisp and tender duck drummies with a really good tequila lime dipping sauce. Nice job Giggles.

Grilled Sota Sandwich- $9 from Brim
We were split between a B and A. Just a really good pb&j sammy. Gluten free with Irish soda bread. Delicious.

Stuffed Cabbage Roll- $8 from iPierogi
A meaty, savory cabbage roll and a fresh dinner roll. Really hit the spot, good flavors.

Bada Bing Sandwich- $9 from The Sandwich Stop
They always make great sammies. The Swiss cheese was baller.

Cheesy Sriracha Funnel Cake Bites- $8 from Funnel Cakes
Well what a fuckin delight! The more we ate it the more we liked it. We speculate that if we had eaten it earlier in the day it miiiight've even rated an A. We are now fans of savory funnel cake.

Halo Cone- $9 at Rainbow Ice Cream
This was a fun food. It was hard not to compare it to the excellence that was last year's Rainbow Cloud Roll, but the soft serve and the fruity pebbles were excellent.

RC's Jammin Brisket Grilled Cheese- $10 from RC BBQ
Great crispy toasted bread, melty cheese, and slammin onion jam with that brisket. One person didn't like it, but don't listen to her. Reeeeeeeal good.

Nashville Hot Chicken-on-a-Stick- $9.95 from Blue Barn
B (though some of us thought it might be an A). Super crunchy. Nice sweetness. Spicy but not too spicy. Worth it (though pricey)

Mac & Cheese- $8 (or $5 with BRBB coup) from Oodles of Noodles.
A "new to us" food. Not as good as the mac and cheese curds selection but good! Especially since we're picky about m&c with cheddar cheese

OK, NOT GREAT- GRADE C FOODS

Cookie Dough on a Stick- Oreo Fudge Flavor for $5, Chocolate Dipped is $1, Peanuts is another $1, from Cookie Dough on a Stick
Very rich. If you like cookie dough you'd probably enjoy.

Irish Whiskey Boneless Wings- $8 from O'Gara's
Yeah this was fine. We ate it all but probably wouldn't get it again. Unbalanced- needed to be either sweeter or tangier. Pretty good heat level.

Tailspin- $11 from The Hangar
This was perfectly fine. This is the replacement new food (since the original wingwalker donuts had injector 'needles' and an excessive amount of plastic that received a bunch of backlash- and The Hangar did the decent thing and actually listened to feedback), and in case you missed it it's "BBQ sauce, french-fried onions and coleslaw, layered over pulled pork, elote, Oaxaca cheese on a hash brown waffle".
We think this might be just too much stuff.

Joey Mary- $8 from Brim
NOTE: requires mixing!! Otherwise too bitter.
Cold coffee. Not much of a slush. GF almond cookie not great. Those of us who liked cold coffee drinks liked it more than others.

Snow Cap Mini Waffle Sundae- $6 from Hamline Church Dining Hall
Good waffle and Cream Cheese Ice Cream, but utterly tiny for six bucks.

Blueberry Key Lime Pie- $8 from Farmer's Union Coffee Shop
We were very split on it, with some going to B and some to D. Good Key Lime flavor and nice graham cracker crust. The spork that comes with it is dumbly shaped, making it hard to eat.

Tipsy Pecan Tart- $7 at Sara's Tipsy Pies
$7 for this tiny mouthful?! GTFO Sara. Crust is too thick- I don't know how you eat it without a metal fork. Flavor was good.

Shrimp & Grits Fritters- $5 for 3 from Funky Grits
Dipping sauce was almost too spicy for some of us. Fritters were a little soft but not bad. Literally no line.

Feta Bites- $5.50 at Dino's Gyros
This was really just ok. Little dry, as expected with feta. Dip was good, and good value.

No Bologna Coney- $6.75 from Mancini's Al Fresco
The sausage and bread were real good, but the muffaletta was cold and overpowering and kind of took over the whole coney. Damn shame.

Lamb and T-Bone Chops- $6 from Holy Land
Very small chops. Not particularly exciting, unless you're a big fan of lamb.

Carolina Pit Smoked Brisket Taco- $9 at Shanghai'd Henri's
Split between a B and a C. The beef was tasty but the taco seemed to lack flavor

Mini Donut Latte- $7 from Anchor Coffee House
Fine if you like cold coffee drinks. But Brim's Joey Mary was better

Deep Fried Dilly Dog- $8 from Swine and Spuds
The batter is excellent which is what's saving it from a D. Falls apart as soon as you start eating it. Not a fan of warm pickles, and ours was way overdone compared to the others coming out.

Cuban Fusion Fajita- $7 from Juanita's Fajitas
This had mixed reviews. Some thought the cheese wasn't melted enough, or enough sauce, others thought it was a pretty good item. Agree to disagree.

The Hot Hen- $8 from RC BBQ
Damn this was divisive. Sarah says it's a fuckin F--, but she hates buffalo chicken. Anne and Pat thought C and B, and the parents were underwhelmed and confused by the conflicting spices of buffalo and jalapeno. But damn- those chips.

Loaded Garlic Cheese Bread- $5 from Green Mill
This was perfectly fine. We just wanted it to be more garlic bread and less pizza. Less sauce and crispier bread would have helped

Fried Taco on a Stick- $12 from Taco Cat
We were all across the board on this one. Sarah hates Mexican food, Anne thought it was too spicy, and I really liked it. Real crispy, with a spicy green sauce drizzled on the outside and meaty filling inside (it also came in vegetarian, but they don't let you mix and match)

NOPE, DON'T LIKE THIS- GRADE D FOODS

Strawberries and Cream- $7 for a small at Strawberries and Cream
Unsurprisingly this is exactly what we expected- something we could easily make at home, but more expensive. Cream was good but berries were too underripe. The best thing about this is the photobomb (see IG pic).

Lavender Lemonade- $6 at Farmer's Union Coffee Shop
The only reason we drank half of it was because we were thirsty. Too tart to be thirst quenching. At least it was pretty.

Turkish Pizza- $9 from Blue Moon Diner
We wanted to love this. We didn't. All heat and no real flavor. Also wished the bread was crispier. We sad.

Boozy Berry Trifle- $9 from the Hideaway Speakeasy
Surprising absolutely fuckin no one this tiny trifle was way overpriced. It was too tart and the poundcake and whipped cream weren't enough to balance it. Expected.

Honey Bee Lavender Mead- $9 from Lulu's (sociable cider werks)
Flavor was like a C but the price on this little bitch dropped it into D territory. We'll stick with Jaybird mead.

YOU HAD ONE JOB, AND YOU FAILED- GRADE F FOODS

NONE THIS YEAR!

So that's it! No State Fair in 2020 (for OBVIOUS REASONS), but we've gotten the official word that there WILL be a MNSF in 2021. Normally right about this time is when we should hear about new foods, but who knows how that will play out. So I guess we'll see.

But one thing's for sure. We'll see you at the Fair.

2019 MN State Fair New Foods Preview Part 5

THIS IS IT!

THE END!

via GIPHY

We've reached Day Five. Nothing left to do but go through these last few foods and then twiddle our thumbs waiting for the actual foods to shove in our mouths.

Might as well get to it so we can commence our very quite weeping.

Oh. You can find Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 at these links.

Sarah

Ohhh fun! Yes! This looks great and different! I hope it tastes delightful and fresh.

I really hope this is good. I really want it to be good. It should be good, right? All the elements add up to something that should be just great.

Don’t disappoint me, Blue Moon Dine-In. You’ve broken my heart in the past and made it soar. We’re due for another good year from you.

Patrick

Now THIS is what I am talking about.  And from the Blue Moon Dine-in Theater?  Now I know it’ll be great.  They’ve made some wonderful and delicious new foods in the past, and I like everything about this foreign pizza.  Comes rolled or folded?  How do I decide?  Is one way easier to eat than the other?  Which way is more traditional?  Why you make me choose?!  I want this now; spicy beef, cucumber salad, and all.

Anne

Ok- this looks just like Greek Tacos, but in pizza form. But then they rolled or folded it and turned it into a taco instead?

Lahmacun is apparently just Turkish/Armenian/Lebanese/Syrian pizza with minced meat, veggies and herbs (including onions, tomatoes and parsley), and spices like pepper, paprika, cumin, cinnamon.

Well regardless, this looks excellent, and Blue Moon rarely disappoints. I expect this will be really tasty and satisfying.

Sarah

I mean, fine. This looks good. I like cheesecake so sure.

But I don’t like when I have to CHOOSE between options, you know? What if we pick the chocolate one, but it turns out the strawberry one was really the best option to go with?

I don’t want to buy 4 tarts, okay? Unless the first one is amazing. Then fine, maybe we’ll splurge. But come on.

Lulu’s public house. They are mostly eh. Sometimes they put something nice out, though. I’m betting this one won’t be one of them, though.

I’m gonna push for strawberry, I think.

Patrick

Oh my god, little cheesecake tarts?  These look adorable and delicious.  How do I choose what topping to get?  Do I need more than one?  Does it come with more than one?  LuLu’s?!  Are you fucking kidding me?  This nonsense again?  This’ll probably turn out be a disappointment somehow, they always manage to screw it up!  I am not shouting!  No, I’m not going to smack anyone, why do you people keep asking that?

Anne

I don’t know man… I know Lulu’s has tried pastry and such in the past, but that is not the kind of food stand I think of them as, so any time they come out with something like this I am confused. These don’t look amazing, and I don’ like how runny and thin the glaze looks on these pies.

Also, do I like my cheesecake warm…?

I don’t know man…

Sarah

Ohhhhhh fun! I LOVE flights of things! And this has actual injectors!!! I am excited!

But also, though, that’s just kind of a waste of materials and extra trash. Even though it’s fun and exciting, the planet is going to end in, like 5 years, so maybe don’t help it along with extra trash and just fill the donuts for us?

Still, though, I’m gonna eat the SHIT out of this.

I hope there’s enough filling in those syringes to go around.

Also, I kind of want an extra one to just squirt in my mouth.

Oh, this is at the Hangar! I’m excited to give this one another shot since it’s only its second year existing.

Patrick

Assault?!  That’s battery at best.  It’s not fleeing the scene, I’m still on State Fair grounds.  I just relocated to a nearby establishment to get away from the fucking blue cheese stink!  Let me finish my fucking reviews god dammit!

Donut holes with your own syringe of sweet filling to stuff them with?  Shut up and take my money!  How do you resist not just injecting sweet cream, custard, or jam straight into your mouth?  This looks like a lot of fun and I hope it’s as good as it is entertaining to eat.

All right, if we can just jump the fence behind the Hangar, we can lose ourselves in the sea of RVs and hide out with the carnies.

Anne

HAHAHAHAHAHAH! This is insane!! OMG I love this. I wonder how many donut holes this comes with? I’m going to need to try ALL THE COMBINATIONS.

The Hangar had good food for its Maiden Voyage last year, and I’m glad to see they’re still offering AND that they’ve taken a step closer to crazy town.

Sarah

Come on. This isn’t…this isn’t fair food, okay, new vendor Blue Ox Burger Bar? I can get a burger like this at Five Guys or any other place where you pick what you put on your burger which is most places nowadays.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I fuckin love burgers. I just, don’t need to go to the state fair to get a burger, you know?

Since we gotta eat it no matter what, it better be a damn good burger.

Patrick

Normally, a build-your-own burger bar is an enticing prospect, but I didn’t come to the MN State Fair to eat a burger joint.  I want something new and fair-festive that I don’t normally get every day, and burger joints are a dime a dozen around here.  I see they have breakfast sammiches here too, but I’d make the same argument for that with the burgers.  If they were offering some unique take on burgers, then we could talk, but I’m not sure I want to spend the stomach space or cash on this.  Nothing against them personally, maybe they make a mean burger.

Anne

A build your own burger bar. Hmm, that seems neat. But IN GENERAL, I don’t go to the State Fair to have a burger…

Sarah

What? There’s already a strawberry place. It looks like a giant strawberry. And usually it’s not bery (heh! That was a legit typo and I left it in because it was funny) good.

I do like berries and cream, though. But, again, I can just make that at home pretty easily. We actually DO make it at home regularly so it sucks that I’m gonna have to spend my monies on this.

I WILL try the iced tea, though. That sounds like it could be good.

I see this is cleverly named Strawberries n’ Crème

Patrick

Wow, you really broke the mold with this one.  I’m lying, this is some played out shit.  Don’t get me wrong, strawberries and cream can be pretty great, but I’m looking for much more exciting fare here at the…uh, the fair.  Is that a pun?  I don’t know, whatever.  The real funny thing is, there’s that strawberry place over by the animal barns (you know the one with the stand that looks like a giant strawberry).  That place makes strawberry desserts, and they use canned strawberries, because you know, why use quality ingredients on the only thing you do and are known for?  So, maybe this place will outshine that crap hole.  I’m actually rooting for them in that regard.

Anne

I guess this is all they do. Pass.

Sarah

Okay. Normally I would be pretty excited about this, but we go to Market fest in White Bear Lake like every Thursday in the summer and they have a KILLER AMAZING ice cream sandwich between chocolate chip cookies and I’m fairly certain none of these are going to be beat that.

But. I do like that there are so many fun flavors. I might swing for that chocolate peanut butter one. Ooh, or maybe even the Cayenne Chocolate Chip.

We’ll see how it goes, Thelma’s Handmade Ice Cream Sandwiches

Patrick

Hey, if I’m going to have to eat ice cream, I can at least get behind it when it is sandwiched between two cookies.  This idea also isn’t very novel, but I do appreciate that they have a wide variety of choices for your selection.  This all comes down to how good the cookies are, and to a lesser extent, how good the ice cream is.

Anne

Lots of cookie and ice cream sandwiches. I might try one- they have some fun flavors.

Sarah

Okay, so cookie dough on a stick for this new vendor Kora’s Cookie Dough. I can get down with giving that a try.

I don’t lose my mind over cookie dough like some people do, but I’m not against it by any means.

There’s gonna be a discussion, though, about what kind to get because that’s the way it always is with new vendors because all of their foods are new.

Patrick

OHMYGOD SHOVE IT IN MY FACE!  I love cookie dough, and all the variations here sound great.  I want it deep fried, I want it dipped, I want to try all the different dough flavors.  I don’t care if this is fat-shame on a stick, I will grin like a madman as you watch and shake your head.  Kora, you have pleased the food gods that reside in my belly.

Anne

Deep fried cookie dough, and cookie dough on a stick, with or without chocolate and toppings. MAAAAAAAAYBE I’d try one of these.

And that's it.

That's all she wrote.

We'll see you again in a few weeks once the fair actually starts.

2019 MN State Fair New Foods Preview Part 4

Here we are! Day four of the new foods countdown! Are you getting excited?  Because we sure as shit are!

You can find Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 at their links.

Let's start thus off with a BAM!

Sarah

YUP YUP YUUUUUUUUUUUP. I fuckin want this. Nordic Waffles was a great new addition to the fair this year, so I’m excited to see that they’ve added some new waffles and they’re a bit bonkers, too.

I mean, I’m obvs not excited about the Mexican one cuz of the flavors, but I’ll shove that candy and cereal one right down my throat. I’ll swallow it like a duck.

Patrick

Aww shit, yo.  Nordic Waffles was a great new addition to the fair last year, and I’m excited they’re back with two new recipes to try.  That pebbles and bam bam waffle looks like the sort of shit your kid would ask for breakfast if they had their choice of candy and cereal.  That or a dad was really trying to really score points with his kids.  That Al Pastor variety sounds hella good too.  I’m excited for both of those really.  This place is great for breakfast, for meals, and desserts.  Why go anywhere else?

Anne

Heh, Nordic Waffles you scamp. The Pebbles & Bam Bam looks absolutely bonkers and I can’t wait to try it. The Al Pastor sounds fine. We liked everything we tried at Nordic Waffles last year, so sign me up. We just need to remember to get in line early because this was really popular last year.
Also, I need to save space for the breakfast waffle because that shit was awesome.

Sarah

Aww cute! This looks great and adorable and I am excited to try this little confection of delight. Also, DIBS ON THE CHERRY, Anne and Pat. YOU SEE THIS?? I FUCKING CALLED DIBS.

Also crushed pecans are going to really send this over the top, I just know it.

Please don’t let me down, Bridgeman’s. I believe in you.

Patrick

I used to visit an actual Bridgeman’s restaurant with the family when I was just a wee lad.  They always had great ice cream and sundaes and malts.  Normally I’m not crazy about getting ice cream for dessert, but this actually looks like it could be pretty good.  I dig the cinnamon sugar pita chips, and I’m sure Sarah and Anne will go nuts over the pecans (hahah, nut puns).  Peaches aren’t my favorite topping for ice cream, but maybe this will all come together nicely.

Anne

Well this certainly looks tasty. I’m not a huge fan of fruit in ice cream. I’ll eat a banana split (but you better not add strawberry or that yellow sauce. Just chocolate and maaaybe caramel), and a maraschino cherry, but that’s it (though for some reason. I’ll eat ice cream with fruit, like fruit pies. I DON’T UNDERSTAND IT EITHER). So, I’m hoping that there aren’t big chunks of peaches in this ice cream.

The toppings on this look awesome though and right up my alley. I hope the pita chips are too delicate to use as an ice cream scoop.

Sarah

God, I love a good fritter. And I like me some shrimp. And I like me some grits. And we already talked about how I like me some dipping sauces, so you know what? I’m pretty jazzed about this one.

I hope it’s not fishy or anything. That could totally ruin this.

Funky Grits, eh? Name doesn’t sound familiar. I hope it’s new and they make some good grits so I can, you know, get more grits.

Patrick

Hey, another new vendor.  Neat.  I’ve recently grown to really enjoy grits (not having encountered them much growing up).  Throwing some shrimp in, deep frying them in a ball and giving me some aioli sauce to dip them in, well shoot.  That sounds splendid.  These look really crispy and tasty and I’m pretty excited to try this new food and vendor.

Anne

Well helllooooo. Funky Grits- are you new? If so, I like the cut of your jib. Is this the only thing you offer, or do you have other, grits-related products?

I like skrimp, I like cheesy grits, I like fried things, I love a good aioli, so sign me up for this!

Sarah

Awwww!!! CUUUUTE! Look at that tiny waffle. It’s adorbs.

That said there’s nothing too special about this? So, while I am excited to eat it because I love ice cream and stuff, I’m not excited for it in a new fair foods sort of way.

Oh, Hamline Church Dining Hall. They’re usually not bad. I’m sure this will be just fine.

Patrick

Hamline Church Dining Hall is a boring place with boring food.  There, I said it.  This is where the old people come to eat their bland food so as not to upset their tum tums.  Here is a perfectly simple and not at all exciting breakfast (dessert?) item.  A mini waffle with syrup and ice cream.  I know you tried, what with the cream cheese ice cream, but it’s not gonna cut it.  This looks boring, and I don’t even get a regular sized waffle either?  Bet I got to pay like it is regular sized.  Get your waffles at Nordic Waffles, folks.

Anne

Well isn’t that just the saddest damn sundae you’ve ever seen. C’mon Hamline Church Dining Hall- I want to support you and give you love, but you keep underwhelming and offering things I can easily make at home.

Just- step it up a notch.

Sarah

Dammit. Why did this have to be served with tomato sauce all over it? I don’t want that. At least make it a dipping side so those of us who don’t like red sauce don’t have to eat it.

Where is this from? What kind of seasonings should I be expecting here?

iPierogi? That’s gotta be new. The father figure is going to love that because he loves pierogis. Is rice normally in polish dishes?

Also, why you serving it with a dinner roll? None of us are eating dinner at the fair, okay? We’re on a day long gorge fest and that extra roll is just filler. Trash it. Especially since the roll is probably going to add, like, a dollar to the price. I’m calling it right now.

Patrick

Holy smokes, quite the number of new vendors this year.  I love a good pierogi, and I reaaaally love a good cabbage roll.  Nothing particularly innovative here, it seems, but I’ve never seen a cabbage roll at the fair, so I’m stoked to give this a try.  What’s not to like?  Ground pork and rice, that red sauce, inside steamed cabbage leaves?  Good comfort food right here.  Sign me up.

Anne

I legit made this face when I saw this pic: (insert grimacing face gif here).

I mean, Sarah’s going to hate this because of the tomato sauce. I don’t even really want it after reading about it. And it looks huge! It looks like you should eat it like a burrito, but they’ve covered it in sauce so now you have to knife and fork it, and I bet it just falls apart all over the place.

Is this a new vendor? I’m not sure.

Sarah

Yaaaaaassssss. I know we often give a lot of shit to Sara’s Tipsy pies for a variety of deserved and underserved reasons but Pecan Pie is the best pie ever so eating this sounds AH-MAZING.

Also, this is now number 2 for whiskey items, too, so it’s creeping up!

Patrick

Hah, Sarah’s still peddling her pies at the fair.  Oh wait, that’s right.  This is that Sara doppelganger.  Shut up, though, and check this out.  Pecan pie might very well be the best pie there is.  It’s also the unhealthiest, but those two things can often run together.  Throw in a little liquor?  Sure, why not?  It’ll probably be expensive for just a little hand pie, but maybe it will be worth it.

Anne

This looks just OK, but if I learned anything last year, it’s that Sara makes a good tipsy pie. I do love me some pecan pie, and this looks like a perfectly reasonable portion for me to continue my State Fair tasting tour, so thanks for that (unless you charge like $15 for it, then gtfo)

That's it for day 4! Check in tomorrow for the final post!

ONE MORE DAY! ONE MORE DAY!
