B Foods

Grade B: Good, Would Get Again.

Al Pastor Waffle- $8 from Nordic Waffles, 2019
Great flavor with the marinated pork and pineapple, savory goodness.

Bada Bing Sandwich- $9 from The Sandwich Stop, 2019
They always make great sammies. The Swiss cheese was baller.

Bacon Stuffed Tots- $8.95 at Blue Barn, 2018
This was an unofficial new food. Dang Blue Barn- you really showed up this year. This is really

more of a croquette but super tasty and left a great taste in your mouth.

Banana Cinnamon Johnny Pop- $5 at Johnny Pop, 2016
Patrick hates bananas. Not our favorite Johnny Pop but so good.

Bang Bang Chicken Tenders- $6 at Lulu's Public House, 2016
       Spicier than expected.

Blue Raspberry Blitzed- $7 from Sara’s Tipsy Pies, 2021

B- Sara makes a good pie- great crust, and the filling is tasty. Not much more to say about it.

Breakfast Potato Skins- $8.95 from Blue Barn, 2019
Solid Start! A little too much potatoes because the béarnaise sauce was subtle, but the flavor was
        very nice!

Brown Ale and Onion-Gouda Tipsy Pie- $6 at Sara's Tipsy Pies, 2017
Even though she spells her name wrong, Sara makes a pretty good ale hand pie. Sweet and
savory. The onion sugar is a nice touch

Buckeyes- vendor and price unknown, 2014
Very similar to candy bar on a stick. Chocolate peanut butter balls deep fried in pancake batter
       with strawberry dipping sauce.

Burnt Butt Ends- $8 at RC BBQ, 2016
These were saucy and juicy with that awesome char flavor that makes this dish so good.

Campfire Marble Sundae- $9.50 from Bridgeman’s, 2022
Bridgeman’s sure knows how to use a marbit to good effect. This is a surprising amount of ice
cream. Basically a s’mores sundae. Wish the graham crackers were bits rather than dust.

Candied Bacon Donut Sliders- $9 at Minnesota Wine Country, 2016
They were good. Plus for the first time the price seemed reasonable since you get 5. They had a
       slight kick was was surprising

Caribbean Lobster Roll- vendor and price unknown, 2014
Tasty with a nice spicy kick. Good Garlic bread and good lobster. Solid B.

Carpe Diem- $6 at The Rabbit Hole, 2016
The carpe cone was goof and flavorful, with sweet compote and cold ice cream. Not bad

Cheese on a Stick- $3 with BRBB at Netterfields, 2022
New to us, great, sweet batter, tasty cheese filling, would get again. Sarah liked it so much she
threw the last bite on the ground so Packie couldn’t have it.

Cheesy French Onion Monkey Bread- $7 at Blue Moon Dine-In Theater, 2016
Sarah and Ann are not fans of French Onion Soup (they gave it a C), but could appreciate the
quality of this item. Packie loved it! (gave a B). Juicy, melty, cheesy delight with savory juices
and chewy monkey bread. It was great you guys!

Cheesy Sriracha Funnel Cake Bites- $8 from Funnel Cakes, 2019
Well what a fuckin delight! The more we ate it the more we liked it. We speculate that if we had
        eaten
it earlier in the day it miiiight've even rated an A. We are now fans of savory funnel cake.

Cherry Bombs- $5 at Vegie Fries (don't you dare spell that Veggie), 2017
The batter on this was fantastic. Strong cherry flavor from the Australian licorice. Really rich.
Still wish it was maraschino cherries. And now we have Cherry Bomb all over our chests from
       the dang powdered sugar.

Chilled Bread Pudding- $? at Blue Moon Dine-In Theater, 2015
Pretty tasty and great texture. Would like to try other flavors.

Comet Corn- $? at Blue Moon Dine-In Theater, 2013
Fun and sweet, cold crispy caramel corn puffs (tasted like Cap’n Crunch). Leaves a trail of comet
dust from your mouth as you eat. Good and the novelty is fun- might get it again as a light, cool
       and sweet treat

Corn Fritters- $8 at the Fried Green Tomato Stand, 2022
New to us, these had a very nice flavor, sweet with a crispy outside and a soft inside batter. Needed
more honey butter and it was a small portion for the price.

Cowboy Bites- $6 at The Frontier Saloon, 2015
Pretty heavy on the jalapeno but we really liked them. If it hadn’t been so spicy they might’ve
       rated an A

Deep Fried Olives on a Stick- $10 at Deep Fried Olives on a Stick, 2022
These were new to us and something we’ve always wanted to try. The breading/batter was bomb-
crispy and perfectly fried. The olives were salty and had a good olive flavor. Would recommend
        for olive fans.

Deep Fried Wine Glazed Meatloaf- $? at MN Wine Country, 2013
Very good and flavorful, especially with sweet chili dip. Only downside is very pricey for not a
       lot of food

Dej Qab Zib (sweet refreshment)- $7.50 at Union Hmong Kitchen, 2022
Coconut, lychee, and herbal flavors make this nice and refreshing. Just what we need in this sun.

Deviation Stout Steak Taco Naan- $10 at San Felipe Tacos, 2017
A stupid name for a damn good taco. The steak was tender and flavorful and the naan was soft
       and fresh. Surprisingly satisfying

Duck Drummies- $8.75 from Giggles Campfire Grill, 2019
Super crisp and tender duck drummies with a really good tequila lime dipping sauce. Nice job
        Giggles.

Earth Sliders- $14 at French Meadow Bakery & Café, 2022
The best vegan thing we have had all day. Wouldn’t even know it wasn’t real chicken. I will tell
you what it was though, a damn fine chicken sammich! Crispy, meaty (but not really), and good
flavors. Only criticism was that it didn’t fit well on the bun.

Gray Duck Sundae- $9 at Bridgeman’s, 2022
Delightful! The marbits really make this sundae and they don’t skimp on them. The black licorice
        flavor was subtle and nice.

Great Balls of Fire- $? at Sausage Sisters, 2013
Delicious, nice spicy kick, make that a judo chop with the spicy/sweet bbq sauce. Jam sauce
sweet that cuts through the heat, cucumber sauce fresh and light

Greek Stuffed Ravioli- $7 from Dino’s Gyros, 2021

Filled with tons of Greek stuff but mostly tasted like cream cheese. Crispy and soft. Nice.

Grilled Sota Sandwich- $9 from Brim, 2019
We were split between a B and A. Just a really good pb&j sammy. Gluten free with Irish soda
        bread.
Delicious.

Gumbo Frites- $7 at Ragin Cajun, 2016
Really flavorful. Mild kick. Cajun gravy gooey goodness.

Halo Cone- $9 at Rainbow Ice Cream, 2019
This was a fun food. It was hard not to compare it to the excellence that was last year's Rainbow
Cloud Roll, but the soft serve and the fruity pebbles were excellent.

Ham and Cheese Stuffed Savory Scone- $? at French Meadow Bakery, 2014
Cheesy and hammy goodness. Um…just really tasty. Yum.

Honey Cream Soda Float- $9 at Minnesota Honey Producers, 2018
A little strange at first, but got better the more we ate and after we mixed it up. Good sweet

       flavors and soda fizz.

Honey Ice Cream with Sunflower Nuts- $? at The Honey Stand, year unknown
New to us in 2015. Reminded us a bit of green tea ice cream. Would definitely get again

Honey Puffs (Loukamades)- $6 at Dino's Gyros, 2017
Dang that honey! An explosion of sweet. Very greek

Italian Pitchfork Sausage
- $? at Pitchfork Sausage, 2013
Italian sausage on a pitchfork. Yep, that is some tasty meat. I’kll put that sausage in my mouth all
day. More innuendos. Seriously though, well worth it and a few different options that means I’ll
       get it again.

The Island Hopper- $12 from The Hangar, 2021

        B. Jerk Chicken and rice in a pineapple. Great flavored chicken with a nice char, the pineapple was

sweet and the rice soaking up the flavors was wonderful. Good value for the price.

Italian Taco- $5 at Green Mill, 2016
The shell is amazing. Really fresh with the tomatoes and balsamic. Good price point

Jumbo Donut Sundae- $11 at Fluffy’s Handcut Donuts, 2021

We got the heath donut, vanilla ice cream, and nuts. It was just good, especially when you get a bit

of heath. Donut was a bit tough, so real forks recommended. The more we ate it, the more we liked

it.

Kerala Fried Chicken Kati Roll- $12 from Hot Indian, 2021
Good crispy chicken with a sweet and tangy slaw and great Indian flavors wrapped up in a
chewy Naan.

Mac & Cheese- $8 (or $5 with BRBB coup) from Oodles of Noodles, 2019
A "new to us" food. Not as good as the mac and cheese curds selection but good! Especially since
we're picky about m&c with cheddar cheese

Mango Tangsicle Sno Ribbons- $? at Blue Moon Dine-In Theater, 2014
Quite Delightful. Great texture, refreshing. Bit much on the extras, just need the ice cream.

Mini Sconuts- $6 at French Meadow Bakery, 2017
Oh man, this was sweet bliss. Chocolate, marshmallow, and nutella inside a soft scone-donut
hybrid. Super rich, could only eat one ball. On a sad note, the doughsant is no longer available.
       A dark year gets darker.

Minneblueberry Pie- $10 at Mineapple Pie, 2022
Solid Blueberry pie! Good ice cream, good filling, good crust. Wish we weren’t so hot and full so
we could eat more of it.

Minne Hot Hot- $12 from RC BBQ, 2022
These were great but OH GOD OUR MOUTHS ARE ON FIRE!! Also a bit of a mess to eat, but
        flavorful and tender.

MN Corn Dog- $5 at Gass Station Grill, 2016
Slightly sweet and meatier than a regular corn dog.

MN Meatloaf on a Stick- $8.50 at Blue Barn, 2015
Not bad. Good sweet and spicy ketchup glaze with a nice meaty loaf

Molotes- 2 for $10 at Midtown Global Market- Andy’s Garage, 2022
B- The elote filling was good corn flavor and they didn’t skimp on the toppings.
C- the chipotle chicken filling was king of dry and the toppings didn’t help.
This was mostly Anne’s call on these, since elote makes Sarah and Packie cry.

Mov + Nqaij (Rice + Meat)- $14 at Union Hmong Kitchen, 2022
We got the chicken and lemongrass scallion dipping sauce. The chicken had a really great char on
it, tender and flavorful. The sauce was very subtle, the sticky rice was great and the pickles made
for a nice tart finish. Really enjoyed.

Nashville Hot Chicken-on-a-Stick- $9.95 from Blue Barn, 2019
B (though some of us thought it might be an A). Super crunchy. Nice sweetness. Spicy but not too
        spicy. Worth it (though pricey)

The Naughty Biscuit- $10 from RC BBQ, 2021
        B. Pork Belly with Pickled Onions, Candied Jalapenos, Sauce. The biscuit was so soft that it’s
actually too soft to eat as a sammich- use a fork. Pork Belly was baller, and biscuit was excellent. We were surprised how much we liked it.

New Mexico Chile Dog Sliders 2 Ways- $10 from Blue Moon Dine-In-Theater, 2022
Obvs this is pretty divisive. We all agree that the shooter gets an A- it’s a delight. Those of us who
like chili or those types of flavors enjoyed these. All agreed that the hotdogs were great. Those of
us who like red onions enjoyed them but others thought they were too much.
Idk- there’s a lot going on so we’re all over the place. Good price for the amount of food.

Onion and Potato Vegie Fries- $4 at Vegie Fries, year unknown
New to us 2017. Nice flavor, good batter. The onions were better than the potatoes

Onion Rings- $6 at Danielson and Daughters, year unknown
New to us in 2017, these were really good onion rings. If I want onion rings I would definitely
       get them here

Pie in the Sky Malt- $6 at Dairy Barn, 2017
Came off more as ice cream than a malt, and the lemon curd was a bit intense at first, but the
awesome airplane cookies, chocolate and ice cream quickly came through and made for a tasty,
       sweet treat.

Pink Guava Slushie- $6 from Holy Land, 2022
Hey who doesn’t like a slushie on a hot day? No one, that’s who. Sweet and slightly tart, the guava
        is a fun flavor.

Pistachio Paleta- $6 at Hamline Church Dining Hall, 2022
This dessert had a nice sweet flavor that really packed in the pistachio goodness and little pistachio
pieces. The creamy texture was delightful. Would love trying the other flavors.

Pork Belly on a Stick (FKA Swine and Spuds)- $8 at Swine and Spuds, 2017
Some of our group liked this more than others. We'd also like to try the other sauce flavors

Pork Schnitzel Sandwich- $14 at Farmer’s Union, 2022
Great breading. Meaty and crispy with a nice sweet tang from the coleslaw. Little pricey.

Portobello Bites- $? at MN Wine Country, 2013
Fantastic, delicious marinated mushroom flavor with zesty sauce. Again, very pricey for the
       amount you get

Pretzel Croissant- $4 at French Meadow Bakery, 2015
Very good. Both pretzel and croissanty. The honey mustard was disappointing thought. Would
       get again

Pretzel Curds- $? at O'Gara's, 2014
Good flavor, overcooked, not enough cheese

RC's Jammin Brisket Grilled Cheese
- $10 from RC BBQ, 2019
Great crispy toasted bread, melty cheese, and slammin onion jam with that brisket. One person
        didn't
like it, but don't listen to her. Reeeeeeeal good.

Ruben Dog- $7 at Pickle Dog, 2016
This was the day’s big surprise- never would’ve thought it would be that good but it was nice and
chilled and tasted mostly of pickle

Saucy Shrimp and Slaw- $10.95 at Fish and Chips Seafood Shoppe, 2016
Expensive, but it had a good, crispy batter and sweet, fresh slaw. We went with the garlic parm
       sauce and it was tasty

Schnitzel Strips- vendor, price, and year unknown
New to us in 2014, tasty, similar flavor to chicken fried bacon. Good dipping sauce.

Shrimp Ceviche- $7 at Shrimp Shack, 2018
Just regular, good ceviche, though a little pricey. Refreshing on a hot day.

Slider Flight- $10 at The Hangar, 2018
We got the pulled pork (because they didn't have brisket *angry face*). Really tasty. Good

amount for the price. Our favorite was the one with the crispy onion straws.

Smoked Soft Serve (coffee flavor)- $7 at Blue Moon Dine In Theater, 2018
Didn't really taste the smoke, but hey- it was really smooth and tasty coffee ice cream.

S'mores Nordic Waffle- $8 at Nordic Waffles, 2018
Sweet and good flavor. Wish the waffle was crispier but excited to try the other flavors.
(spoiler- we tried breakfast the next day and it was EXCELLENT! bfast got an A).

Southern Chicken Biscuit- $8 at Lulu’s, 2022
Good amount of chicken. That biscuit is fire. A great way to start the day

Sriracha Sliders- $7 at Sausage Sisters, 2015
We disagreed on this one so end scrore is a B-. The bun was pretty much just filler. Would rather
just get the meatballs. There are better things to get there

Steak Appizzaiola- $8 at Spaghetti Eddies, 2015
Pretty damn tasty. Sort of like a pizza hoagie but with thin sliced steak. We really liked it

Stuffed Cabbage Roll- $8 from iPierogi, 2019
A meaty, savory cabbage roll and a fresh dinner roll. Really hit the spot, good flavors.

Sundae Sammie- $10 from Jammy Sammies by Brim, 2022
Boy howdy was this a A with all that topping- sweet and salt, warm and cool, crunchy and soft.
Y’all it was a great start to the day (and we were the VERY FIRST SUNDAE SAMMIE!). The
only reason it’s not an A overall is once the topping is gone it’s not as special.

Swedish Egg Coffee- $1.50 at Salem Dining Hall, year unknown
       New to us in 2016

Tot Dog- $7 at Lulu’s, 2022
Actually felt the beef hot dog was too big. Might’ve been better with a normal dog. But it was nice

and crispy and a good size for the money.

Vanilla Dream- $10 at Nordic Waffles, 2022
Though we were split with a C. Could’ve used something crunchy for texture, but flavors were
        good.

Walleye Stuffed Mushrooms- $? at Giggles Campfire Grill, 2015
If you like mushrooms go for it. But it’s not better than the walleye cakes.

Wine Fried Kallettes- $9 at MN Wine Country, 2015
Basically fancy Kale chips. Good, but as usual with MN Wine Country, over-priced

Wood Fire Elote- $5 at Tejas Express, 2018
Anne, who likes elote, gave it a B even though it was quite spicy. Sarah and Packie (who hate

elote on principal even though they've never tried it) hated it and gave it a D. So you decide I
       guess.

Wood-fired Neopolitan Style Pizza- $? at Blue Moon Dine-In Theater, 2014
Pretty tasty. Light sauce, big pepperonis, and thin crispy crust

Za Waffle Sticks- $5 at Green Mill, 2018
Bizarre but good...? It was actually hard to grade this one because we weren't sure if we liked it,

but also couldn't stop eating it. Tried the pepperoni maple syrup but wished we had marinara
       instead.

Zesty PB&J Sausage- $6 from the Gass Station, 2018
Sweet and a bit spicy. The casing was nice and snappy. Good bun. Good sausage.
